Raccoon removal along Groton's shoreline, where Connecticut's rabies vector species law shapes how removal is actually performed.
Call (844) 924-1337Raccoons show up regularly in Connecticut's suburban towns, settling into chimneys, attics, and the space beneath a deck wherever a steady food source keeps them nearby, and Groton's shoreline and marina areas hand them a direct route into surrounding neighborhoods. State law treats raccoons as a rabies vector species, meaning a trapped animal cannot legally be released elsewhere, a rule meant to keep rabies from spreading between towns through relocated wildlife.
That legal limit determines how a Groton removal job gets handled: a licensed operator works through on site release, exclusion, or humane methods instead of catch and relocate. Call (844) 924-1337 to discuss pest control help in Groton and check service availability.

Live trapping and relocation, followed by sealing the entry point, is the general approach for raccoons denning in or around a home. Because raccoons can be defensive and carry health risks, this is usually safer left to a professional with proper equipment.
Securing trash cans and pet food can reduce yard visits, but recurring activity or a suspected den warrants a professional assessment rather than an attempt to handle the animal.
It depends on your local animal control's policies and the specific situation. Municipal programs may focus on strays or immediate public-safety concerns; check the local service scope and discuss property-specific raccoon activity with PestGuardians. Worth checking what your local animal control actually covers before assuming either way.
Pricing depends on your location, the removal work involved, and whether entry-point repairs are needed. Call PestGuardians to discuss the work needed in Groton and request pricing for your situation.
