Bat removal for Boulder, where a still new bat disease may be pushing displaced colonies toward older buildings and homes.
Call (844) 924-1337Boulder's older brick buildings and homes with gaps along the roofline sit close enough to natural foothill roosting habitat that bats squeezed out of the wild have a genuinely convenient backup option nearby. That squeeze is a fairly new pressure: white nose syndrome only showed up in the state in 2023, confirmed in a bat found near La Junta after the fungus behind it had already turned up in several counties, and with as many as 13 of Colorado's 19 native bat species considered vulnerable, the population declines other states saw years ago may now be starting here too.
Because this outbreak is so recent compared to states where the disease arrived over a decade ago, bat removal calls in Boulder may increasingly trace back to this still developing disease pressure rather than an established pattern. Bat removal from an attic is typically handled through exclusion: sealing off other potential entry points, installing one-way devices at the main entry so bats can leave to feed but can't get back in, then sealing that opening once the roost is confirmed empty. Bat exclusion calls for a professional assessment of the species, roost, and appropriate timing; do not attempt to seal an occupied roost yourself.
The same exclusion approach used for attics applies to bats roosting elsewhere in a house, soffits, eaves, chimneys, or wall voids. An exclusion assessment should identify active openings and consider the roost before any entry points are closed.
Coverage varies by policy and provider, and many policies treat wildlife exclusion differently than damage repair. Check directly with your insurance provider about what your specific policy covers before assuming either way.
Bat removal pricing depends on your location, the extent of the roost, access conditions, and the exclusion work required. Call PestGuardians to discuss the work needed in Boulder and request pricing for your situation.
