Snake removal for Oro Valley, where foothill homes near Pusch Ridge sit close enough to the Santa Catalina Mountains for western diamondbacks to wander in.
Call (844) 924-1337Oro Valley's foothill neighborhoods sit closer to Pusch Ridge than almost anywhere else in the Tucson metro, and the desert washes below the ridge are where western diamondbacks, the rattlesnake most often found near homes in this part of the state, hunt the pack rats and rodents sharing that same terrain. Homes built right against the foothills end up nearer to that activity than properties farther down into flatter parts of town.
The season runs roughly March through October, dropping off once it cools. A brush pile at the wall line or dense landscaping pushed right up against the foundation is often enough to close that last stretch of ground, and the overlap with rodent pressure shows up more on foothill-adjacent lots than anywhere deeper into Oro Valley. Keep a safe distance and avoid trying to catch or corner it yourself, especially if you're not sure of the species. Describe the sighting to PestGuardians; identification and an assessment of possible entry gaps can help determine the next step.
If it's a one-time sighting and the snake moves on its own, that's often the end of it. A snake that repeatedly appears in one area, or whose species is uncertain, warrants professional assessment; do not try to capture or relocate it yourself.
For a snake in or around your home, describe the sighting from a distance and discuss the identification and access concerns before removal is planned. Call PestGuardians to discuss your pest concern and check local service availability.
