No other animal contributes more to Alabama's wildlife rabies numbers than the raccoon, and the wooded lots scattered around Troy give the species easy denning cover close to residential streets.
Raccoon calls jump noticeably once spring arrives, driven by denning females raising a new litter, a window that happens to overlap with the state's yearly rabies bait drop.

Live trapping and relocation, followed by sealing the entry point, is the general approach for raccoons denning in or around a home. Because raccoons can be defensive and carry health risks, this is usually safer left to a professional with proper equipment.
Securing trash cans and pet food can reduce yard visits, but recurring activity or a suspected den warrants a professional assessment rather than an attempt to handle the animal.
It depends on your local animal control's policies and the specific situation. Municipal programs may focus on strays or immediate public-safety concerns; check the local service scope and discuss property-specific raccoon activity with PestGuardians. Worth checking what your local animal control actually covers before assuming either way.
Pricing depends on your location, the removal work involved, and whether entry-point repairs are needed. Call PestGuardians to discuss the work needed in Troy and request pricing for your situation.
